I am a stay-at-home-mother of two children. My son is 7 and my daughter is 5, and they are my life. In my spare time I express myself through various forms of art. I love photography, which I have been slowly learning about for the last year. I write poetry, and have been doing so for 18 years. I also sing and am passionate about music. My father was a music major in college and classically trained me when I was a very young child. Artistic expression has been part of my life in some form or another ever since I can remember.

Speak up film photographers

Who all uses film SLRs? Speak up, speak loudly. Or at least comment to me, please :) I want to know what camera you use, what lens for what kind of work, what equipment. Do you have your own darkroom? Tell me how you do things. What would you recommend for a beginner just discovering film photography? I would want more than a point and shoot, but I certainly could not handle a full manual SLR.

I had always hoped that I would wind up with a film SLR but had thought they were way out of my price range. I thought digital was cheaper. I have been corrected. So why am I putting this off? Why not learn it now? My camera is taking a crap right now as we speak. Ever since I dropped it and snapped the lens, the noise is so bad and now the focus is going. I need a new one. I might as well take the plunge into film photography. It's what I really want anyways. Sooooo, talk to me people. I'm e-listening.
